When you sign up with a health insurance provider to cover you for dental fees, you should be aware that:
Each health fund determines what level of rebates it will pay based on individual level of cover.
The rebates payable on dental fees are likely to range between 50% to 100%.
We are pleased to announce that as HBF preferred providers Woodvale Park Dental offers the dependent children (up to age 25) of our HBF patients 100% gap free cover on General dental treatments.
If you have Essentials cover children can receive no gap (fee) treatment for check ups, fillings, and Mouth guards!

As a service to our patients, and as part of our continued commitment to excellent yet affordable dental care, WPD has entered into a Contract / arrangement with Private Health Insurance companies as listed below. WPD has undertaken to charge members of the funds an agreed schedule of fees for each procedure. As a result, members of health funds depending on their individual level of cover pay a smaller 'gap payment' towards treatment at Woodvale Park Dental.
Our accounting staff will prepare all the necessary forms for your dental benefits. However, we remind you that your specific policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your total obligation should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated. Our staff will gladly provide you with a pre-treatment estimate for your insurance company so that you will get to know from your Insurance Company what your benefits will be prior to the treatment appointment.
Please note that whilst WPD will charge the scheduled fees stipulated by the above Health Funds, the amount of rebate you are entitled to will depend on the level of cover that you have. You are encouraged to make inquiries with your health fund with regard to the rebate that you are entitled to for specific treatments which are identified by item numbers.
You should be aware that different insurance companies vary greatly in the types of coverage available.
This may entitle you to receive up to 100% rebate on Preventative Dentistry and up to 90% rebate on General and Major Dentistry.
That's less out-of-pocket expense.Whilst selecting a health fund, you should ensure that the health fund represents value for you and your family.
Woodvale Park Dental accepts all health funds and has the convenient facility of a HICAPS (claim on the spot) machine.
Payment plans
Mediplan is a flexible funding plan specifically designed for the payment of dental and medical treatment. It can be used to pay for most treatments and procedures. For those who have Private Health Insurance, Mediplan is an excellent option to help pay for the gap, excess and co-payments or for those procedures that are not covered by Private Health Insurance. Mediplan can assist those people who do not have Private Health Insurance.
Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme-
ALL ENTITLED CHILDREN ARE TREATED AT Rebate only with NO OUT-OF-POCKET expense.
